Crossing the highway from the capital of the island, Pigadia, heading north from the east side, you will find yourself on a magnificent route, combining lacy beaches, mountains and greenery. Arriving approximately in the centre of the island, you will find the mountainous village of Spoa, overlooking the open sea.
An “armada” of houses on the hillside which, being located at the narrowest point of the island, overlook two seas.

Spoa overlooks both the best hours of the Carpathian Sea: Sunrise and sunset.

A village with a living tradition, customs and traditions, a village that, from its roots, revives and keeps unchanged its hospitality and friendship. Signs and titles that distinguish the village of Spoa to this day.

If you stop there, even for a few minutes, you will be impressed by the pure character of the inhabitants who will greet you, treat you generously and chat with you, even if you are a complete stranger to them.

If luck brings you by on days when they celebrate their customs and traditions, you will feel as if you are part of their society too.

This rural village is one of the most authentic villages of Karpathos. The lyre can be heard in the alleys and the wood-burning ovens of the houses are smoking to bake bread.

The precious treasure of this village, however, lies further along the coast and is the enchanting and picturesque bay with its crystal clear and transparent beaches.
