The climate of Karpathos is purely Mediterranean.  

During the summer months, the main feature is the strong winds (meltemia) and the high humidity due to the sea effect, while the total rainfall is found during the  winter season and temperatures are normal for the season.

According to data from the Karpathos Airport Meteorological Station, the average annual temperature is 19°C, while the average monthly values range between 12.8°C (February) and 25.8°C (August).

The average minimum air temperature of 9,7°C is recorded in February and the average maximum recorded in August is 28,9°C.

The average annual height of atmospheric precipitation is 352.2 km, the months that show the strongest winds are July and August, with the most prevalent direction in the Northwest.

The average annual relative humidity is 70.9%.
